Buddibot Standees and Fliers

Buddibot is a company that provides an Internet based service to control and communicate to near and dear ones through a robot. We had done the User Experience Design on the Buddibot website. This was a followup assignment from them to carry on the same look and feel to their marketing collateral during launch.

Large 2 meter high posters and standees were designed for the product's 'point of purchase' display

Large size posters, showing a larger that life Rovio and simple steps for the service subscription

Mirror360

An Antisocial Network – Founder, Mirror360

The designs were created to encompass all possible features that could be included. More cannot be disclosed unfortunately. The project is not online as yet.

Large Icons and Large Size text is used to create the interaction and feature points for the website / portal

Attractive Graphs and Charts are used to liven up the otherwise boring sections

Forms and Rating tables are custom designed to give a better interaction experiece

Experience Design

The project started with us receiving an already existing prototype for the site prepared to guide the UI designs. Halfway into the project we did realize that the initial prototype was insufficient to handle the complexities of the project. A fresh approach was taken thereafter to create a complete experience. See attached screenshots.

Yes – Title Animation

Yes is a small company from NY. USA doing short digital films. The title design was commissioned to us prior to their film’s release.

Process

The sequence is a live shot rotoscoped and created manually in vector form. The basketball on fire was added later on a separate layer of 3D. Both the player and the Ball were created based on a live footage.

A frame showing the traced out actor and the basketball created and later replaced in 3D

Final Frame of the title sequence

Animation included various camera angles

Cellbazaar

Cellbazaar is an inhouse project that got stalled after initial efforts.

Homepage, a place where the user can purchase a cellphone

Research a phone

Page to select and sell a phone through open bidding

The website is for buying and selling cellphones online. A prototype was initially made to understand the whole idea and present it to prospective investors. We are still open to the idea to setup the engine and backend for the same. Interested investors may contact us. View gallery to see larger screen shots.

Seventhcloud

Seventhcloud is a 2D animation company developing 2D animation and 3D animation content (in collaboration with Timeline) for Indian Television.

Using wordpress, each project page is capable of showing a video, a gallery and many images with text

The site is formatted like a blog to save time and keep it simple

The site was created using WordPress as a CMS in a very short time. Some new features were added in like quicktime players and 2 column post (Tugbucket). Purpose built in a short time, the site served its purpose, but was more of a Blog layout and approach.

Career Mantra

Homepage layout. Although there were changes from the original chain of thought which did not involve a top banner.

Solutions that the site was offering. The pages are not created to be dynamic in any way in this version.

A registration form for the website services

We started with the Identity Design for the company. Once the logo was set, we moved on to design the whole thing keeping in mind that it may need to be ported on to a CMS.

However, Career Mantra used the static pages for sometime before switching to something else. The present site looks a lot different from this one.

Bytedge

Bytedge is a place which deals in very serious and technical stuff like planning, coding, analyzing, theorizing etc etc. The website is basic and simple with clean and clear information. The templates for the website were created keeping in mind that it should be possible to have it ported on any available CMS like WordPress, Joomla, Drupal.

In the end, it remained a static website.http://www.bytedge.com/

Whitepapers display, writeups and downloads area. The area was created to cater specifically to a distribution and broadcast need complete with PDF download options.

Bytedge homepage - This page was kept devoid of all color so that a single process chart can get highlighted.

The Blog page layout was very similar to the whitepaper and downloads section.

Mobile Road Race

The assignment was to create a backdrop for a road race with a city top view as the backdrop. We came up with this.

Process

Initially an idea of our virtual space was drawn out on paper. What type of buildings, how much shadow, what type of bridges and vehicles are we going to accommodate, how many types of trees etc. Once this ‘master-plan’ was ready, we moved on to the next stage of actually creating the space on the system. Options were limited as we could only use 45° angles and straight lines. The whole layout was then created as a High Resolution image that was later reduced in size.

A view of the streets from the game. Each image is created using a standard stock of 16x16 pixel blocks.

The street view. Each part is created from tiny 16x16 pixel square images. This did restrict most things to 90 and 45 degrees.

A maze of roads and houses in virtual space

The reduced image was then traced out pixel by pixel in limited colors to have a repeat of elements in a 16×16 format. This meant that the rooftop ACs, the trees, the slanted roofs, and all other suck components were to repeat exactly after 16 Pixels. Delivery To demonstrate that the ideal and the tessellated images work, we created HTML pages that used the exact PNG files and showed a composite landscape spreading across a full screen.

One of the most enjoyable projects ever done.

Kirby RIL Structure

We have worked with Kirby Building Systems many a times but this was by far the most complicated of Structural Design presentation just by the scale of components involved. The shed to be depicted in the virtual walk through was half a kilometer long. This meant that the amount of detailing inside the shed had to be optimized so that the whole thing is believable and yet feasible to render out in a short span of time. All the shelving structures within the structure were instanced and repeated. But they had to be filled up as well. Numerous quantities of cartons and boxes were created and then placed at random on the shelves to give an idea of the shelving and aisles within the premises.

Vehicles used in the project are from stock CDs retextured to show the comparative scale of the structure. No weathering were done to the textures, things were kept new.

GDC Presentation

A simple presentaion for a gaming company with a very very tight deadline.

Five people pooling their heads in from five locations over the internet, uploading and downloading updates over the net.

Step 1 We identified a format to carry out the project.

Step 2 To ensure that everyone’s thinking the same, a PPT file was employed and shared.

Step 3 The 3D work was done next and optimized to finish in time.

Step 4 The final render and edit were done based on feedback on trial files to save time. Final file was delivered over the internet in 720p Format.

Laxmi – Dancing Car

This was done for a local film upon the huge success of “the original Dancing Car” created for the Citroen TVC. True to movie traditions, the sequence was adapted to add to an existing song in the movie. Our choice of vehicle, a Honda CRV. Showcased sequence is a part of the original sequence.

The actors get ready for the shot against the green. A gigantic green stage was created to account for all camera angles and movements

Actor Venkatesh shakes a leg with the Robot

And what that looked like after we put in the stage and the robot

The process involved making a digital replica of the vehicle. Splitting its components to form a Robot. Rigging the Robot for animation and then animating it to the dance moves. However, we failed to secure a motion capture data for the dance sequence and later it was traced out manually from 2 angle shots of the choreographer himself.

Hyderabad 10k

Simple and innovative, the concept was provided by the client and we executed them in under 5 days time. The sequences are basic plate animation in 2D Animation Softwares which does it’s job. Basic plates are created in Image Creation and Modification softwares and then animated in layers to get the desired effect.

Concept to delivery time of less than 4 days.

Single frame from the footsteps sequence. The sequence was done in pure 2D animation. Lots of footstep textures were scanned in to achieve the effect

Satyam 108

Motion graphics were produced to launch Satyam’s new emergency services in Hyderabad. The clips were added to a film produced by the company in Hyderabad. The Project was done through Mokshaa who were involved in creating the actual film. The ideas for the animation were provided to us in base form by Mokshaa.

Kalachakra

A visualisation of the Kalachakra for a film on Budhhism by Bhairav Films, Hyderabad. The objective was to create animated clips based on the architecture of the Kalachakra with an Ethereal look. The first versions of the visualization were very direct, although over time we developed it into an Architectural Form or Building depicting each circle of the Kalachakra.

A 3D version of the whole thing created and then lit up to create the magical feel. Concept to delivery of less than 3 days.

The Salesman

Imran as the Salesman

The thief. Colors seen are forced over the film to create different feel for different parts of the story.

Salesman and Wise Old Man sequence from Melbourne streets.

Things kept short and sweet look good, this was Imran’s first attempt at directing a film all by himself… When in Melbourne, and you have a Camera at your disposal, do what Imran did.. We just helped him finish it up. Cheers Imran !!

The film was shot on DV in widescreen format. We took it from there, edited it and cleaned up the audio. Post this a full color correction and touchup was done to the whole video as well.

All actors in the film doubled up as some technician or the other except the cameraman. Imran himself plays the Salesman. The Film is shot in and around Melbourne over a couple of days.
